After reading a delightful post by ImpactED Nurse at
http://impactEDnurse.com , I've decided that I never want to be catheterized. So, if any of you fellow nurses are ever standing over me with a garden hose size catheter tube, prepare for a struggle. Just warning you in advance.

It's not unusual to feel the way you do.
As part of my job, I cath lots of males for work, and some people are easier than others. Don't sweat it if you need it. A good prostate also helps (that can mess up things and require specialty equipment.) Always tell your doc and nurse if you do have a history of prostate problems!
Ask for lots of lube (and a Urojet if you have lots of pain--it's lidocaine) and take deep breaths (no peeking) as it's done. Things work much better that way!
Good luck to you in your nursing adventure! Keep up the good work.
I hope you haven't given up on your blog! Also, hope all is well with your transition to nursing!

URL: http://NurseReview.Org
If interested, please drop me a comment so that I can add your site as well. Dont forget to add my site first.
THanks,
Myk
